Aetna Group hosted an important orientation and training conference dedicated to the challenges of the future of work, with a particular focus on automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence applied to the industrial world.
The forum “Technologies and Innovation in the Future of Work” took place at Robopac HQ in Castel San Pietro Terme (BO), in the impressive Leonardo Hall.
The event was a great success, with over 100 students from ITS Maker and the University of Bologna in attendance, enriching the discussion with numerous stimulating and highly relevant questions.
The conference featured authoritative professors from the Faculty of Engineering of the Alma Mater University of Bologna, who led a lively roundtable debate moderated by Eng. Gabriele Canini of Robopac, addressing key contemporary topics:
- Prof. Andrea Zucchelli (Department of Industrial Engineering) spoke on the theme Flexible reconfiguration of machines and production lines through mobile robots, introducing the concept of “dematerialization” as a metaphor to describe the possibility of eliminating fixed connections in favor of greater flexibility. “The line is no longer a binding concept, and this allows us to open our minds to find more creative and innovative answers, capable of redefining production processes with a freer, future-oriented vision,” he stated.
- Prof. Alberto Regattieri (Department of Industrial Engineering) explored New business models linked to Digital Assets and Digital Twins, highlighting both risks and opportunities of this transformation. He explained how digital services and tools can “provide early warnings, certify and accelerate processes, and support strategic decisions”, while not overlooking critical issues such as cybersecurity, data reliability, and ethics.
- Prof. Lorenzo Marconi (Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Information Engineering – DEI) addressed the topic of Autonomy in intelligent robotic agents, explaining the transition from traditional design to “robotic friendly” co-design, where not only machines adapt to the context, but the environment itself is rethought to encourage device integration. The challenge is to ensure safe and reliable adaptability.
To conclude the event, Aetna Group President Alfredo Aureli urged young people to make courageous decisions and carry them forward with passion and pride, “with love for packaging.” He also emphasized the importance of education and how crucial it is to believe in oneself, in order to protect with enthusiasm and dedication all that has been built over the years, which has made Italy the world leader in the packaging industry, strengthening the value of Made in Italy.
